The Role of Fate in William Shakespeares The Tragedy of Romeo and Juli
The Role of Fate in William Shakespeares Romeo and Juliet Romeo and Juliet, the first romantic tragedy was ground on a poem translated from the French Novella (1595). Romeo Montague, who is in love with Rosaline, goes to a party in an attempt to take his mind off her. At this party he meets Juliet Capulet and immediately falls in love with her. Later he finds out that she is a Capulet, the rival family of the Montagues. He decides that he loves her in spite of this, and so does Juliet. They confess their love for each other during the very famous balcony scene in which they agree to secretly marry the next day. Friar Laurence agrees to marry them in an attempt to end the fight between the families. Unfortunately, the fight between the Montagues and the Capulets gets worse and Mercutio (Romeos best friend) ends up in a fight with Tybalt (Juliets cousin). Tybalt kills Mercutio, which causes Romeo to kill Tybalt in a fit of rage. For this, Prince (the Chief of Police) banishes Romeo from Verona. Juliet Capulet, according to her parents wish, is to be marital off to Paris. She does not want to marry him so she arranges with Friar Laurence to fake her own death with a sleeping potion that will make everyone think that she is dead. Friar Laurence promises to send word to Romeo to meet her when the potion wears off and to take her to Mantua (where Romeo is residing, after being banished from Verona). Unfortunately, Romeo does not receive this core on time and upon hearing of her death, he goes to Juliets empty tomb where he drinks poison and dies. When Juliets potion wears off, she awakens to find her lovers corpse... .... If Romeo hadnt gone to the party, he would never have met Juliet who would have been married off to Paris. In this case, the story would not have taken place. While going to the party, Romeo feels that he would die at an early age. His negative thinking could too have been an incentive t o his own death. Romeo and Juliet decide to get married. This is a wrong decision in the play but is decided by fate. Friar Laurence made the biggest fumbler of all by agreeing to get them married. If Romeo had controlled himself and not killed Tybalt, he would not have been banished from Verona. This would prevent another worry to his tragic love life crime. By cleanup position Tybalt, Romeo Montague became a criminal and a fugitive. From forth the fatal loins of these two foes A pair of star-crossd lovers take their life.

Madeline Hearons Introduction to Philosophy Dr. Butterfield 9 March 2014 The Problem of Evil The problem of evil has been a controversial topic for non only philosophers, but also people of different faiths all over the world. The problem of evil poses the questions that if there is a higher provide, a perfect God, how loafer that higher power dispense with such evils to occur in this world? How could this perfect God create such evils in the world? How could he allow such suffering? As these questions grow been asked, many philosophers have different thoughts and opinions on what kind of higher power really exists, and how evil erect come out from such a perfect and loving God. The example I have chosen poses the question of whether or not a perfect higher power really does exist. If a perfect God has created this world, why would he include evil? After researching different philosophers and their different views on the problem of evil, Gottfried Leibniz stuck out to me. I fo und comparing our views very interesting. The problem of evil proves contradiction in religious philosophy, that a perfect God may or may not exist (Pecornio, 1). If a perfect God exists, why would he put evil into our world and promote suffering? Some philosophers have argued that this suffering is essence for our own sins. If you willingly choose a path of evil, then evil will present itself onto you. An example of this would be that if you know smoking is bad and sack cause lung cancer, and you still choose to smoke, you deserve the evil consequence of getting lung cancer (Beebe, 1). The problem of evil pinpoints two types of evil moral evil and born(p) evil. Moral evil is a type of evil that is caused by mankind itself, such as murder, abuse, and sexual... ...t mean that a God does not exist, but atomic number 53 that all knows, all-powerful, and all present does not exist. The Logical Problem of Evil explains this, going against Leibniz and his beliefs, but supports my ex ample. I believe that Leibniz argument in persuasive and have some very valid points. In conclusion to the problem of evil, I think that your beliefs will lead you to follow a certain view on this topic. I also believe that you do not have to choose one certain side, that this topic is not black and white. The problem of evil can really exact you think about the troubles of the world, and what the reason and cause for suffering is. Who do you believe is responsible? Is it a higher power, or your own actions that make these things happen? Religious views may lead you to believe one idea, but your logical sense may lead you to believe something completely different.
Identity and Violence Analysis Essay -- recognition,
Identity and Violence may seem isolated from each other on a crackficial level, but on a deeper analysis both seem to depend on each other. To put in a different way, honest as long-stagnant water can give birth to deadly mosquitoes, similarly a logged and hardened definition of identity may lead to violence which could be similar to Aedes. To briefly explain this analogy its essential to refer to Charles Taylor who argued that identity is shaped in three ways-1) Recognition of identity 2) absence seizure of identity3) Misrecognition of identity. All three modes of shaping identity have the potential to bring out violence which is latent. Here, Sigmund Freuds idea of human instincts being of 2 kinds those that conserve and unify and, the instincts to destroy and kill is very significant. These instincts work according to the motive, when individual works for their motive that is of shaping the identity leads to use of violent fashion and ends mostly. Our presentation will include Terrell A. Northup idea of identity as a system of beliefs or a way of construing the world that makes life predictable kind of than random. This way, he conceptualizes that social constructs of an identity become so entrenched that the conflict surfaces as violence. The identity first takes the form of threat, which later gets distorted and extremely rigid and ultimately colludes in maintaining the conflict. Thus, it can be said that, identity is central almost core to individuals and their sense of connectedness to themselves and the society-scope they engage in. Kriesberg examines how there is a formation of not only ones own, but also a sense of identity of the other, which further reinforces the self. Though identities can be both ascribed a... ...llows that the intervention is contingent on the identity dynamics of the groups involved. For instance, peripheral would limit itself to the objective component. Similarly, change in the dynamics of the relationship between part ies, will not change the core schema, but depart the nature of the existing relationship between parties. This carries connotations of a relatively enduring change. Changes that occur in the identities of the parties are aimed at reconstructing the core schema, in this case, the perception of us and them. Such would be the case if the Israeli State recognizes the Palestinian State as an equal and de-emphasizes the differences between the two. This level implies a change approximating utopia. The introduction of super ordinate goals establishes a commonality between the groups, forcing them to acknowledge the other as more like self.

There are two different ways of speech. continuous speech or isolated-word speech. Isolated-word Speech-An isolated-word system operates on single words at a time - requiring a pause between saying each word. This is the simplest form of recognition to perform because the end points are easier to find and the pronunciation of a word tends not affect others. Thus, because the occurrences of words are more consistent they are easier to recognize. Continuous Speech-A continuous speech system operates on speech in which words are affiliated together, i.e. not separated by pauses.

Kinds of research data Essay
The basic classification of research data is in terms of quantitative and qualitative methods. denary research entails examination of numerical data by using mathematical models and statistical procedures. (Morgan, 2000). Qualitative research involves use of analysis and opinions to explain interviews and documents and understanding the phenomenon. The think requires a qualitative and some quantitative approach rather than a purely numerical one. Data Collection Approaches Data hive upion approaches can be primary and secondary. Both primary and secondary approaches will be utilized Extensive research will be carried out in the Library as well as on the World Wide Web. Qualitative Research Methodologies Qualitative methodology focuses on quality a term referring to the essence or ambience of something. Qualitative methods are apply to understand complex kind phenomena. In the present situation, literature survey along with interviews and questionnaires will be the differentiate techniques used for data collection, collation and analysis. lineament-Study Research Methodology.Case lead in the primary research methodology employed in this study. A case study is an enquiry which uses multiple sources of evidence. It evaluates a contemporary phenomenon in real life context within the boundaries of the phenomenon and when the context is not clearly evident. Potter, (1996) has defined case study as a realistic methodology, which deals with solid and specific questions. Case study translates research objectives into more researchable problems, and provides rich examples, which are easy to comprehend. The significance of case studies is its bring out the meaning of a phenomenon. A peer group case study approach is considered best suited than other techniques to implement this research, as it will revolve about on an empirical, contemporary problem. It will also enable answering the questions as, why and, how to understand the underlying motivations. It will gen erate empirical data and interesting selective information specific to the phenomenon under study. Research cases offer a unique tool to testing theory by examining phenomena which are beyond the traditional statistical approaches. (Potter, 1996).Case study research is useful to the aims because the degree to which a case study produces valid and apt information is generally higher than qualitative research in a more general survey. An analysis of the Chinese and UK banking systems is proposed to be carried out with reference to the case study of Bank of China and HSBC, London. Limitations of Case Study unity of the limits of case studies is the difficulty of generalizing their findings. If the case design is sound and if the researcher is careful to be explicit about the phenomenon and the context of the study, then results can be generalized.(Potter, 1996). some other limit of case studies is that they generate a lot of information that take to be logically handled to strength en the argument presented in order to develop credible conclusion. Research Instruments Primary data is collected for the research study to answer a specific question. Ways of collecting this kind of information includes surveys, observation or controlled experiments. Surveys are one of the most common ways to collect data, where the subject can be contacted through mail, telephone or directly in in-person interviews. (Veal, 2000).It entails sending questionnaires, interviews and non-formal enquiries made to people. By carrying out interviews of a significant number of individuals a broad perspective can be provided. This research will collect data by essentially the method of interviews and questionnaires. Data Collection Method Questionnaire Survey Surveys are frequently used to obtain information about social issues. Jones (1997) has described that survey needs planned strategy to gather data. Surveys can be conducted in many ways, over the telephone, by mail or in person.Questi onnaire surveys are ideal for providing complex information. Questionnaire involves a sample of the population which can range from few hundreds to few thousands depending on the research study (Veal, 2000). Questionnaire technique has been used in the study. Limitation of the questionnaires On an average the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, but a key drawback is low response rate. This will result in low aim of confidence and distort the analogy of statistical information.Another weakness of questionnaire is the fact that it is a structured format and allows little room for flexibility with respect to rejoinder by the respondents. Interview Interviews will form an interactive part of this study and will be carried out after the secondary research is done in combination with the questionnaire. When doing these interviews it will be important to keep a neutral view of the research topic, where the actual behavior instead of an intended behavior needs to be identified. Veal (2 000) has described interview as a strategy to find out from people about the things, which cannot be observed directly.

Financial Engineering Essay
University of Stratchclyde is amongst one of the top ranking universities in the United Kingdom. The university is located right at the heart of Glasgow, Scotlands biggest and most cosmopolitan city. The University of Stratchclyde was founded in 1796 when John Anderson, Professor of Natural philosophy at Glasgow University left instructions in his will to establish a university which should be a place for helpful learning for everyone. His vision was realized when Andersons university opened later in the same year he died. The university developed rapidly since its inception and by the 1890s, had decease a major technological institution with a wide reputation for research and learning. This rapid expansion meant that there was a need of raising more finances for opening up a new building for the university. For this purpose, a fundraising campaign was started by the governors and as a result a, the Glasgow and West of technical college building, at one time the Royal College Buil ding was opened in George street(strath. ac. uk. ,n. d. ).The primary focus was on science and engineering, though it also offered about courses in management. The college was known for producing some of the beaver scientists and engineers of its time. In 1964, the Royal College was granted the Royal Charter and thus became the University of Strathclyde. In 1993, the University of Strathclyde merged with Jordan hill College of Education, which is Scotlands Premier teacher training college(strath. ac. uk. , n. d).This new talent offers teacher training alongside courses such as speech and language pathology, social work, sport and outdoor education. At the time the University received its Royal Charter, it had some 4,000 full-time students and only a single block of buildings fronted by the Royal College. Today University of Strathclyde has become the third largest university in Scotland.

Dozier: Foreign Exchange Market and Forward Contract
Dozier Industries has three options to choose from when deciding on the best way to handle their first non-US dollar denominated due 1. Entering into a onward contract in which Dozier would sell forward British Pounds. 2. Execute a spot market transaction to create a synthetic forward hedge. 3. Do not hedge against any fluctuations between the Pound and the Dollar. For the purpose of the analysis, there are several assumptions made which are apposite to the analysis that follows (see appendix). Forward Contract wangleThe first option available to Dozier commission to hedge the risk of the Great British Pound (GBP) depreciating against the linked States Dollar (USD) is to enter into a contract to sell forward ? 1,057,500 for USD in 90 days. Therefore, on April 14th, when Dozier receives the remaining GBP from the security system contract, it would be required to come back these GBP to the counterparty of the forward contract. This option would make the devoted immune to any f luctuations in the value of GBP relative to USD everyplace the next 90 days as the faithful would lock in the USD/GBP exchange regularise for their receivable of ? ,057,500. At the current 3-month forward rates of (1. 4198 USD/GBP), Dozier would take into custody guaranteed proceeds of $1,501,438. 50. Dozier also received ? 117,500 as stick to for the contract. The firm could sell this specify on the spot contradictory exchange market at the current rate of 1. 437 USD/GBP and receive $168,847. 50. Investing the proceeds of the gear up in a U. S. money market account would yield $171,988. 00 in 90 days. It is important to note that since the contract was settled on December 3rd, the GBP depreciated by everywhere 3% (from (1. 820 to 1. 437 USD/GBP). As a result of this movement, the USD value of the deposit was reduced by the same 3% from $174,135. 00 to $168,847. 50. Under the strategy of using the forward contract hedge, the firm would be assured of receiving a total of $1, 673,426. 50 ($1,501,438. 50 plus $171,988. 00). Given the total cost of the project of $1,642,783, the firm would cognise a profit of $30,643. 50, a margin of 1. 87%. This profit margin would be significantly below the projected 6% return. Spot Market HedgeAn alternative to the forward contract hedge is Dozier could create a matching liability for the GBP receivable by borrowing GBP from the bank, instantaneously exchanging the GBP for USD in the spot foreign exchange market and then investing the USD proceeds in a three month deposit. At the time the receivable comes due, Dozier would use the GBP proceeds to get the liability and keep the USD amount of the three month profit. These series of legal proceeding would eliminate the risk of the depreciation of the Pound. GBP funding is available at a rate of 15% (13. 50% GBP prime rate plus 150 basis point credit spread). To create a GBP liability of ? 1,057,500 GBP in 90 days, the firm would need to borrow its present value of ? 1,0 21,188. 50. The firm would then receive $1,467,447. 88 at the current exchange rate. As the USD investment would be over $1. 0 million it would be classified as a large deposit and qualify for the premium interest rate. As in the previous scenario, Dozier would immediately exchange the ? 117,500 deposit into $168,847. 50. The total proceeds of $1,636,295. 38 could then be invested in a deposit bearing 8%, earning interest of $31,787. 57 over 90 days. The firm would receive a total of $1,668,082. 4 from the initial deposit, the principle and interest in the three month investment. Given the project be stated above, the firm would realize a profit of $25,299. 94, representing a margin of 1. 54%. Spot Market Hedge The final option available to Dozier Management is to leave the 1,057,500 GBP receivable un-hedged. If the GBP were to appreciate against the USD over the next 90 days, Dozier would reap the full benefit of this appreciation. Conversely, should the GBP depreciate versus the USD over the next 90 days, Dozier would suffer a loss equal to the percent depreciation of the pound to the dollar. In a scenario where the USD/GDP exchange rate moves by 10%, the Doziers profits would verify between negative $96,471. 13 (or 5. 9% of cost, making the project a loss) and $207,819. 16 (or 12. 65% of cost, effectively doubling the profit margin). Conclusion Dozier can capture a profit through both of the hedging strategies albeit it being smaller than the target six percent originally built into the bid. An un-hedged position is unacceptable due to the firms recent financial difficulties it is critical that Dozier profits from this initial venture into this new market. While leaving the receivable un-hedged alternative does offer the superior potential profit at the current prevailing FX rates, these profits are not guaranteed (see appendix for profit/loss possibilities given GBP/USD FX fluctuations). Given the importance of locking in a profit and the uncertainty of the GBP/USD future exchange rates, we recommend Dozier hedges the ? 1,057,500 receivable by exchange rate in Appendix Assumptions All transactions are executed immediately. All transaction costs surrounding the forward contract are negligible. All rates given in Exhibit 4 will not fluctuate over the 90 day time span. Organization development Essay
This paper presents an overview of an bind by Padraig Healy on gentility in Zimbabwean public bea presidential terms. It outlines the methods of organization phylogeny as detailed by Healy and offers a critique of the clause produced as a report on the implementation of his own study program as an alternative to previously implemented ones. The paper then goes on to assess the club Petroleum training Oman, offering insights into the social clubs leadershiphip structure, organizational culture, communication practices, and organizational structure. It also offers some analysis of these practices in light of organization development theory. Article Idea Summarized In the article by Padraig Healy, Training and Public Sector Reform An Integrated Approach, the author defines organization development as a strategic method of defining and aligning companies underlying goals in an effort to increase its potentness within the sphere of its operation. Healy reminds his readers tha t one of the main goals of such development is to facilitate the organizations superpower to compete with rival companies, and such competition takes place at the levels of performance and output. He emphasizes that it is through carefully planned developmental strategies as well as through their proper execution that these goals pile be met. He shows, also, that the ability to set and achieve these goals is of immense importance to managers in todays die hard environments. Healy demonstrates his understanding of the penury for training in building company capacity. Yet the article then gets more specific in addressing the limitations of training as a stand-alone method of organizational development. As a method of strengthening the capacity of an organization to handle each the aspects of its responsibilities, Healy offers an alternative that mixes capacity building with a top- galvanic pile cultivation of trust between/among managers and employees (Lesmeister, 1992). It therefo re goes without saying that the role of the manager is indispensable to the proper development of any organization, whose efforts are to be twin with an thorough understanding of the organizations culture in assign to attain the general and specific developmental goals set forth for the company.Discussion of themes and arguments Healy begins his article with a discussion of organizational development. He stresses the accompaniment that managers cannot afford to consider organization development as something that takes place spontaneously. Rather, he shows how it is generated through the orchestrated efforts of the stakeholders concern in a particular company. Planning is particularly necessary as such development involves a long range approach and a long-term commitment to the general course of action decided upon (CODL, 2004 Leadership and Organization Development, 2004).Such plans also involve detailed analysis of the organizations heathen climate as well as its performance as it regards trends as well as alongside its competitors. This particular point make by Healy hits on an important aspect of management, as without a detailed understanding of the positive and negative aspects of the current organizations performance, it becomes impossible for management to formulate and consummate an effective plan for improvement of the company. Healy also correctly notes that such improvement can occur on more than one level, not the least of which is employee performance. This multivariate affects new(prenominal) important ones, such as organizational output and general performance (Packard, 2005). The article then demonstrates how organization development is considered to be organization-wide since it focuses on the total system. It explains OD as the method through which a system whose climate is managed from the top, so that the heads of the organization set examples concerning the methods of action to be taken at all lower levels of the company (Gallaghe r, 2000 Mindek, 2005).The self-possession of the strategy by practiceers within the organization is thought to stem directly from this, as they are expected to take their cues from the executives. The article by Padraig Healy goes further by offering a practical action of the theory in a particular situation. It demonstrates how organization development was applied in the public sector and analyzes the success of the various approaches. The first step according to the organization development method is to implement a thorough analysis of and noise into the performance of workers within that sector.Healy finds that that though most of the employed people are the natives within their working environment, the quality of much of the work done is substandard. In order to solve this problem, rigorous training has been undertaken in order to improve the quality of work, thus increasing the outputs and the level of performance from the workers (King & Colonies, 2006). According to this practical section of the article, training is implemented as a series of events, which includes various workshops, seminars and study visits (Healy, 2001 Lesmeister, 1992).It is significantly diametrical from just adjusting the knowledge and skills of the employees in order to meet the demands of the organization rather, it can be classified as action research that focuses on the implementation of proposed improvement plan and the charting of the results at each stage of the implementation. Training people in that context demonstrated how much of an investment employee development is, and shows the major requirement of time and money involved.Furthermore, the Healy article suggests reasons why such large-scale development office be a luxury that most developed countries would have impediment achieving, though they would profit from it greatly (Healy 2001 McNamara, 1997). Strengths and Weaknesses In the article, Padraig Healy performs a good analysis in his consideration of the lo cal situation as he shows himself able to highlight the fact that the organization development performed in the public sector is demonstrates benefits of (as well as the necessity for) rigorous planning.Showing how this is achieved through an in-depth visualization of the situation helps the reader understand not just the concept of organization development but its application to real life situations. Healy also demonstrates a commendable ability to highlight (within this specific Zimbabwean context) the need for astute, active, and honest CEOs that can identify and take ownership of problems and their causes.Since the organization that already existed within the nation had already been associated with weak organizational systems, the results of the application of the training to these leaders as well as to employees demonstrated the need for reforming the training models (Lesmeister, 1992). Healys article was also very adept at explaining the need to have key policy makers and lead ers that are able to identify, reexamine and then redistribute the important roles involved in the organization. This proved more effective compared with its previous existence which was apparently at the district level (McCourt & Sola, 1999). In the Healy article, the concept of change is given great importance, emphasizing it all throughout the organization. This is in accordance with the theory of organization development, which is one that embraces change. Within the article, organization development is shown to be very important at the public sector level because it deals with various concerns, including human resources, changing the nature of the workplace, global markets and the overall acceleration of change. The fact that Healy gives a practical demonstration of the interplay of all these departments makes his argument for organization-wide development stronger (Kappeler, 2007). Furthermore, in the aspect of human resources, the article takes in consideration the most import ant worker in the organization the people who do the work. In demonstrating the importance of employee development and training, Healy represents this demographic as contributing the largest degree to the costs incurred by organizations. This approach is effective in demonstrating the dire need for training employees, which represent such a large portion of an organizations investment and have the ability to run across the success or failure for the organization. The assessment of the areas in which the training program was successful and where it failed also served as a good method of demonstrating the effectiveness of the unalike types of training programs. Information from this article can therefore be synthesized with others in order to further refine the methods of training in the hope of finding or creating one that is most effective. The organization development weakness (as shown through the Healy article and his application of the concept in Zimbabwe) is its low level of e fficacy in the sententious term. It can often prove self defeating that the real effect or outcome of organization development is most evident over a continuing period of timeespecially when organizational change is considered an expedient necessity. The paper demonstrates through its attempt to find an improved method of organization development, that even though more than one way exists, it is always best to have the luxury of time in which to implement any of the methods. However, one drawback of this paper is that it deals solely with methods of training, and does not mention other methods of organization development, such as employee promotion, merit-based pay, benefits attractive to already skilled personnel, and decrease of political control on public sector budgets (Besley & McLaren, 1993 Evans and Rauch, 1999 McCourt & Sola, 1999). finishing This article is essential in the field of organization development because it shows the various factors that are at play within publ ic sector organizations and how they affect the different aspects of these companies.Healys Zimbabwe example presents a concrete look at the complexity of organization development, and how it requires the training of leaders, the careful planning of things, the setting of goals, and other concepts that interplay in the performance of these goals. The article shows that organization development demands the totality of all the efforts beginning with the leaders (through management training) and then extending downward through the employees and into production. The Case of Petroleum Development Oman insertion Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) is considered to be the biggest vegetable oil explorer and producer in Oman. It is a national company that has the biggest share in the countrys oil production, accounting for about 90% of Omans crude oil and almost all of the countrys natural gas supply. PDO can be considered as a large organization, wherein other companies share in its interest s, not only the country of Oman.Despite these strong points, the organization lacks unity in its management and leadership, and this disunity is funneled down to the level of employees. These problems are thought to contribute to a below-optimal production rate. Developmental Background In the Case of Petroleum Development Oman, it is managed and owned by secernate entities which include the Government of Oman, having a 60% share of interest, Royal Dutch Shell which has a 34% interest, Total, who poses a 4% share of interest and Partex who has a 2% interest (PDO, 2007).Because of this, the leadership and management are not fully unified, and this disunity factor creates an important effect in the case of PDOs organization development. starting of all, the proper approach to (and implementation of) organization development could help usher in a renewal process, which PDO could encounter when and if it chooses to focus on the efficiency and coaction of the administration. When ones speaks of efficiency, it is undeniable that PDO (like so many other organizations that are lacking in this aspect) just try to supplement this deficiency by increasing the size of the work force. Yet this has not solved the problem, but complicated it, as with the greater number of employees has come a larger responsibility for each managerial personnel. The difficulty of trying to manage a larger workforce with the limited amount of skill and unity has made the job of the manager that more difficult. In this, the company also demonstrates itself as being production oriented rather than employee focused. Yet the Islamic culture also plays a role in this set-up, where work teams are socialized to sacrifice their own comforts for the sake of the team objective. This is where organizational development has the opportunity to improve conditions at PDO. Leadership The leadership structure of the company is defined by a posting of directors that control the different divisions of the com pany North, South, and natural gas divisions. This board consists of 12 members, and included in this number are the managing director and the deputy managing director. The managing director serves also as chairman of the board. The standard setters, as mentioned earlier, are directed or overseen by functional directors, who are also in charge of recruiting and allocating the staff under their jurisdiction. Presumably, they are also in charge of seeing to the capabilities of that staff, by means of training as well as other methods. These functional directors are also in charge of determining the production process, and are therefore termed process owners (PDO, 2007). The work of the Petroleum Development Omans board of directors is to devise and make available to the managing directors the objectives of the firm. This is therefore a direct allusion to the planning that takes place in the companys organization development. The twelve-member board, which includes the Minister of Oil a nd Gas as chairman, are representatives of the country Omans government. This therefore points toward the inextricability of politics from the running of the company, and demonstrates that Petroleum Development Oman can be considered a definitively public-sector company. Therefore, the methods of training identified by the Healy study would appear to be applicable within this organization. Analyzing the situation from a developmental standpoint, one can see clearly that in several areas the principles of organization development are being properly applied in the case of this multinational company, Petroleum Development Oman. The notion of an organization is said to be a conglomeration of efforts from two or more people which are working together towards a common goal, and that is usually the issue of productivity and effectiveness. However, with management and leaders divided among governmental and private sectors, one might find some cause for alarm in the case of PDO. When it comes to the concept of leadership, the case of Petroleum Development Oman mirrors that of many other multinational organizations.PDO is headed by a number of leaders, since many owners exist within the corporation. The majority of the companys shares is held by the government maculation the rest is divided up among several smaller companies. The divided nature of the ownership could give rise to the lack of unity regarding the decisions that must be made about the companys management. However, the organization seems to have countered this through its representative board and the way it has chosen to structure its functionality division as the authors and directors of the companys process.

Water Is Under Threat Of Being Exhausted Environmental Sciences Essay
Like most natural resources, drinkable water is under menace of being spent due to over-consumption. And like most natural resources, one time depleted, regeneration of the land water system and surface piss bequeath take 100s of old ages. At the present rate of ingestion every chance needs to be utilized to conserve our beginnings of water add on and create statute law that leave progress wise recitation of water system. Governmental bureaus and private endeavor should mobilise their resources to construct proper substructure for body of water preservation like edifice dikes, reaping rain H2O, and so on This paper is a survey of current and future tendencies with regard to H2O white plague, and testament show a image of what the following twosome of decennaries might life like. urine Technology and Emerging Tendencies1. Governments of all states be coping with issues related to supplying safe imbibing H2O to its citizens. In coiffure of the pressing conduct extended research has been done and some new engineerings and procedures have emerged. Electrolyzing imbibing H2O is efficient in extinguishing water-borne sources. E-water is formed by go throughing an galvanising current to a weak solution of salt and H2O, which turns super- acidic that kills the pathogens. Water is therefore sanitized for imbibing intents and does nt look, odor, or taste any different from water tap H2O ( Zinzi 2010 ) . In the hereafter scenario this will be a major agencies of recycling apply H2O to do it drinkable and suited for ingestion.2. Another technical promotion that has come to visible radiation is the usage of aquaporins as biomimetic membranes to let passagewayion of lone H2O molecules and nil else through it. No molecule that is large or smaller than a H2O molecule back tooth go through through the channel. This ensures that drosss are blocked from polluting the H2O. The lone disadvantage of commercializing biomimetic membrane is to do it strong and st able plenty to defy repeated fouling and cleansing procedures. In future this will turn out to be a pillar in recycling waste H2O and saline H2O to do them drinkable for human ingestion.Politicss, policy and statute law1. Harmonizing to the US Geological Survey, future H2O demands can non be accurately identified, but tendencies of increasing emphasis on H2O resources the universe over can be widely recognized. Even though the jobs can be recognized, they will non be resolved on their ain. For case, aquifers can non be recharged rapidly after they are over-pumped. Water allotment struggles have been spy in many ramifys, these jobs are compounded by increasing population and forseeable drouths. Governmental bureaus like the geological study or similar bureaus are in a place to help states in apprehension, predicting, and minimising the impact of these crises.2. The job of H2O handiness becomes more serious and outstanding as the explosive growing of population is predicted globall y ( For e.g.US Census Bureau undertakings the US population to increase about 50 % from 282 million in 2000 to 420 million in 2050 ) . The hydrological agenda of any part is mostly influenced by regional factors like clime, rainfall etc. Infrastructure including waste H2O aggregation, storage and distribution of H2O, agribusiness, electric power coevals construction of roads and commercial edifices and clean imbibing H2O for residential countries, must be planned for the sustainability of H2O. The job of worsening surface H2O and land H2O resources are a cause for concern.Consumption1. Projecting the information for 2026, based on the current tendencies of the economic demand for commercial and residential H2O use, it can be estimated that the engineering affecting optical maser beams used as a big scale H2O purification procedure. This technique involves laser beams being detailed at a watercourse of imbibing H2O that can observe and take unsafe pathogens and sublimate H2O for im bibing intents. This engineering will be used to supervise H2O safety for both domestic and industrial usage ( Zinzi 2010 ) . Giant strides in the development of cost effectual ways of reaping rain H2O will be made to prolong agribusiness and gardening.2. Industrial H2O is likely to be higher in developing states compared to developed states. However, the overall industrial H2O ingestion will diminish globally due to betterments in H2O preservation engineering and monitoring of demand and execution of Governmental ordinances. indigence for H2O used for irrigation will, similarly, addition in the development states and is projected to be the most intense in sub- Saharan Africa and the Latin American states followed by western sandwich Asia. Water scarceness in these parts may be intense as existent demand is frequently higher than projected demand. As a consequence the planetary harvest output rate may worsen ( Rosegrant, Ximing & A Cline 2002 ) .Families and relationships1. In ord er to project the demand for municipal and domestic H2O for 2026 one needs to analyze and acknowledge, cipher the jutting demand and put precedences for all bing and possible H2O use. Projection of future demands for municipal H2O depends on the alteration in the economic construction of a part and the efficiency of implementing alternate H2O usage policies. Other factors that may lend to an accurate labor include household size, distribution of household units between unitary and joint households and per-capita H2O usage ( Willsie & A Ratt 1974 ) . Water will go more of a trade good and ingestion will depend on the purchasing capacity of single users.2. Future H2O demands may be computed on the ground of figure of individual and multi-family units, addition in population and the gross per capita usage of H2O per part. Domestic H2O usage depends on the size of the family and the seasonal usage of H2O. Education and consciousness degrees with respect to minimising wastage of H2O a re besides of import factors. In 2026, H2O rationing will depend on the economic position and size of belongings in urban countries. ( House-Peters, Pratt & A Chang 2010 ) . Sharing of H2O resources across international boundary lines will be in focal point as struggles may originate due to unequal allotment and general scarceness of H2O. health and fittingness1. Human organic structure is made up of 75 % H2O ( Maxx 2009 ) and we need to imbibe H2O in order to remain alive. Water is necessary for the proper operation of variety meats like the encephalon, colorful and kidneys. Without H2O our organic structures will acquire dehydrated and will be afflicted with serious unwellnesss. So in order to remain fit and ample all living existences need to devour big measures of H2O. Water is considered to be the wonder drug by many. Due to scarceness of drinkable H2O, people will be given to happen replacements in the signifier of soft drinks, milk merchandises and caffeine.2. At the prese nt rate of ingestion, the demand for H2O will far run the supply of H2O which will take to a H2O pricing system in most states. Denationalization of H2O across the Earth will hold serious branchings every point far as wellness and fittingness is concerned because poorer people will non be able to afford equal measures of imbibing H2O. This will take to dehydration related chronic diseases like allergic reactions, high blood pressure, diabetes, and unsusceptibility upsets. This will impact the wellness of the edict as economically backward populations will non be able to afford medical specialties and governmental resources will be strained to supply wellness attention benefits.Work and leisure1. By 2026, people will be preoccupied with developing newer techniques in H2O direction ( Griffiths 2009 ) and H2O preservation. So this will supply employment to a big population and will include H2O recycling and transit. A batch of scientific work will be support by authorities every bit good private establishments at national and international degrees. The handiness of H2O will ever stay as nature has its ain manner of recycling H2O, nevertheless, the rate of recycling H2O is lower than the rate at which H2O is being polluted and made speculative for ingestion. Building H2O canals, reservoirs and dikes will go a precedence with governmental bureaus and will supply chances for employment, particularly in developing states.2. As developing states slay economic stableness and richness, demand for H2O for basic healthful demands will increase. More people will be able to afford comfortss like Jacuzzis, railroad car lavation, horticulture and swimming pools ( Griffiths 2009 ) . This will add to the H2O crisis in 2026. Depending on the richness degree, fewer people will be able to afford installations that we take for disposed(p) for illustration holding swimming pools at place and H2O Parkss, etc. Global heating will impact winter athleticss like skiing which wil l ensue in beaches and H2O athleticss around the sea going more popular as leisure activities.Biophysical environments1. Biophysical environment in relation to H2O trades with H2O ingestion by people, land and farm animal. The alterations in clime, peculiarly rainfall, have deductions for fresh fish resources as it has for agribusiness. Since the handiness of natural H2O is non uniformly distributed, transit of H2O to countries with high denseness of population will go common characteristic. Puting extended web of grapevines overland for H2O for human ingestion every bit good as for farm animal will affect considerable outgo. Water holes, pools and swamps will necessitate to be tapped to run into the demands of croping for cowss. Herding direction and land use will necessitate to be implemented ( deLeeuw 1993 ) .2. Demographic alterations are anticipated in future depending on the ready handiness of H2O for domestic and blood use. In parts where the cost of H2O transit can non be a fforded, people will switch to countries closer to natural H2O beginnings. Global Warming Outline Essay
Pierre de Fermat was born in Beaumont-de-Lomagne, France in awful of 1601 and died in 1665. He is considered to be one of the greatest mathematicians of the seventeenth century. Fermat is considered to be one of the fathers of analytic geometry. Fermat along with Blaise Pascal is also considered to be one of the founders of probability theory. Fermat also made contributions in the field of optics and provided a law on light travel and made wrote a few papers about coalescence well before Isaac Newton and Gottfried Leibniz were actually born.Fermats most important work was done in the development of modern moment theory which was one of his favorite areas in math. He is best remembered for his number theory, in particular for Fermats Last Theorem. This theorem states that xn + yn = zn has no non-zero integer solutions for x, y and z when n is greater than 2. Fermat almost certainly wrote the marginal note around 1630, when he first studied Diophantuss Arithmetic. It may well be that Fermat realized that his prove was wrong, however, since all his other theorems were stated and restated in gainsay problems that Fermat sent to other mathematicians. Although the special cases of n = 3 and n = 4 were issued as challenges the general theorem was neer mentioned again by Fermat. In fact in all the mathematical work left by Fermat there is only one proof. Fermat proves that the area of a right trangle cannot be a square.See more than what is essay format Meaning that a rational triangle cannot be a rational square. In symbols, there do not exist integers x, y, z with x2 + y2 = z2 such that xy/2 is a square. From this it is easy to gain the n = 4 case of Fermats theorem. The proof of Fermats Last Theorem marks the end of a mathematical era. Since all of the tools which were brought to bear on the problem still had to be invented in the time of Fermat. judge by the tenacity with which the problem wa for so long, Fermats alleged proof seems likely to rush been illu sionary. This conclusion is further supported by the fact that Fermat searched for proofs for the cases and , which would have been superfluous had he actually been in possession of a general proof.

Becoming a Teacher Essay
Never has it crossed my attends eye to become a teacher. I would choose any other field or career except it. In fact, after my high aiming, I was so undecided of what course to take, of which sort to go as if I was in the crossroad Robert Frost is pertaining to in his poem, The Road Not interpreted. I was definitely certain I never sine qua noned to be virtuoso I would non rent myself involved with it, non even in my wildest dream But, should I say fortunately or unfortunately, because my sexual intercourses who are educators said I must be like them, and that I should follow their steps. According to them, in that location was no better profession for me other than teaching method. Woe to me My life seemed to be driven by my familys beliefs. I had to obey. I had no choice. So I had a plan. I would go against the current, regardless of my kin. They would be the ones to provide for my allowance and miscellaneous fee. I was by then a scholar, a grant my relative also worked out.At first, I was just planning to finish the first semester and then I would transfer to another course but I never had the chance because they didnt allow me to. I consummate the degree with recognition though I never really liked it. For me, its better than not having a degree at all. After graduation, I took the examination not because of the excitement to be a professional teacher but because it is the expectation from all the education graduates. I was so blessed to track down it at once. I had my license but I still got no plan to teach. I was functional as a cashier in a gasoline station while my classmates were already teaching as PARA teachers. Whenever they see me, they would always ask when I plan to apply for ranking. I would however smile and say Im waiting for the right time. Yet, at the tush of my mind, was the fear of intervention the obligation. Yes, I fear the responsibility of they say the noblest profession. Ive seen it from my auntie. She was coming i nhabitation late in the afternoon. She was staying up late at night because of lesson plan and some paper works to be done. I didnt want to experience the same. Those were the reasons why I never wanted the course. But, I was reprimanded. That was the only time I was moved. I decided to process my application. So happy I was, because I topped the ranking and was promptly hired as a regular-permanent by the government, and I was summoned to entrust my teaching craft and skills at Sotero Baluyot unproblematic School. Teaching there was never easy for me. I had to travel for a couple of hours to come to school so I get home only during weekends. It was the first time I left home for days and to think that it would be for years, I felt even sadder. I did the works at my top hat(p) though. I have to like it I know. I became friends to the parents and to the school-age childs and I started to love the job. There, I had a student who was visually impaired. Her classmates used to tease her bardo which is an Ilocano term for duling. Because of that, she became a true loner. She rarely participated in class word though Ive seen a real potential in her. I said to myself I had to helper her.I trained her to join the quiz bee. She got second place in the district level and became one of the participants in the division level. After that event, she became active in our class. Her classmates started to befriend her. Other teachers begun to notice her and became one of the best in their subjects. Pupils never tease her again. In the graduation day, she was an awardee. After the ceremony she and her mother came and thanked me. I had twain more graduations when I decided to apply for transfer to my home base. Luckily, it was granted quickly. When the parents and the students knew that I would be difference soon they approached me and asked if I could stay for some more years. Though they know that somebody was coming as my replacement, they say they would always prefer me. I was happy for their sincerity. I wanted to stay but my parents want me to be with them too. That night, was the only time I felt I AM A PROFESSIONAL TEACHER.Thoughts came back to my mind. The moments with the parentsThe experiences with the children..happiness..struggles..Somehow I made a difference in them and I know I am a professional. Yes I have become a mother to lonely children, a doctor to those ill, a counsel counsellor to the erring pupils and a very jolly peer but , I am a professional teacher. I shape the lives of the young and impressionable children, inculcate values in them. I practice differentiated teaching styles so that students are learning best. I setup and design classroom to get and keep learners attention. I control emotions in most stressful situations. I am accountable to teaching profession, to the pupils, my co-workers and the society. I have never dreamt of this path but with this responsibility comes great pride and joy because I am a teacher..a professional teacher.

Humanities Prejudice And Persecution Coursework Essay
wherefore did the national socialists shun the Jews? Did Nazi Propaganda make the German people discriminatory against the Jewish race? How successful were the policies of the Nazi government in establishing an anti- Semitic society? In this coursework I will be explaining why the Nazis detested the Jews. I will explain what propaganda is and if the Nazi propaganda makes the German people prejudiced against the Jewish race, and how successful the policies to establish an anti-Semitic were. The precondition prejudice means an attitude (about a person or group) that is formed without having all the facts. This usually involves disliking somebody, more often than not because of their ethnicity, sexuality, religion etc. Prejudice attitudes are learned. For example children in Nazi Germany were taught to hate Jews, which is like anti- Semitic. Germans were influenced by the use of propaganda to prejudice them and make them discriminate against the Jews. The main apprehension fo r this was because of Adolf Hitler. The term discrimination means when treating someone in a different way, usually less well, because they kick the bucket to a particular group. The Nazis treated the Jews differently, due to their religion and they discriminated the Jews as they way they looked like. The term persecution is to treat an individual or group badly. Hitler persecuted the Jews as soon as he came to power in 1993.Adolf Hitler persecuted Jews in many different ways. The way that Hitler persecuted the Jews wereWhen Hitler seized power in 1933 he used his powers under the change law to begin his attack on the Jews.In 1938 the attacks on the Jews became more violent with Himmler the head of the SS and the Gestapo entering Kristallnacht on 11th November 1938.By 1939, half of Germanys 500,000 Jews had emigrated to escape Nazi persecution. In 1939, Germany invaded Poland which had a a lot larger population of 3 million Jews.In 1941, Germany invaded Russia which had a populatio n of 5 million Jews.Himmler displace four special trained SS units called Einsatzgruppen battalions into German occupied territory and shot at least 1 million Jews.Victims were taken to deserted field of operations where they were made to dig their own graves and shot.Nazi PropagandaThe Nazis propaganda in those days was seen as Anti Semitic. Propaganda was an organized way of media that convinced people this could be through by ideas, information, rumours or opinions. The major purpose for the Nazis propaganda was to make the German people prejudiced against the Jews race. An otherwise purpose why propaganda was used was a brainwashing of the public convincing them of an ideological viewpoint. The Nazis propaganda portrayed the Jews as fat, greedy, lazy, people with big crooked noses, ugly, colored, hooded eyes, nasty, evil, disloyal, un sightly, wealthy, powerful and sly. To do this the Nazis made sure that their propagandas were everywhere. They were more noticed on, for examp le carte du jours on windows, cars, walls and withal the Nazis propaganda was broadcasted on television and films were also made to show the way Nazis prejudiced the Jews and was held on the radio.I will now be showing some propaganda posters, which shows confirming posters and negative posters. image01.jpgThe External Jew circular from a Museum. This propaganda shows a negative outlook about the Jews it shows Jews being ugly with a crooked nose. The money portrays that Jews are selfish and are money grabbers in the German society. This poster explains the Jews being selfish as they have a lot of money. The whip in this poster indicates that Jews are trying to take guarantee of the German society. This is a negative propaganda towards the Jews.A German Beer MatThis is a Negative propaganda, which shows a German beer mat with a Jews face on the mat. This beer mat that was created by the Germans and was put in all pubs. It also has a picture of a Jew showing a very ugly face. Jews are hated by the Germans. The Germans have created this image on the beer mat to show how much they hate the Jews and to show that they do not have any respect towards the Jews. This beer mat indicates whoever buys from a Jew is a traitor to his people raft in pubs promote even more hatred against Jews.Anti- Semitic Propaganda in schoolAn Anti-Semitic cartoon. From the German childrens book 1938This is a negative propaganda which is taken from a German childrens book. This propaganda has both German children and Jewish children in a school. The stereotype here of the Jewish children is made to make them look horrible, dark and with big crooked noses. There is a distinct with the difference of Jews and Germans. Unlike the Jews the Germans stereotype was seen as clean and tidy and they are kept in a lighter area. From this propaganda you can clearly notify which children are Jewish or German as the stereotype comes in again. This propaganda is also to brainwash the German children. This poster explains Jews being kicked out of school, and is showing that without Jewish children the school is better.Showing the Ideal Aryan FamilyThis propaganda is a unequivocal poster towards the Nazis. Because this is trying to promote the Ideal Aryan Family. We can see this is a positive propaganda as it shown by the fruit and flowers around the family.A fund raising poster for the Hitler YouthThis is a Fund raising poster it shows a stunning Nazi girl. This is a positive propaganda towards the Germans. This poster indicates that Nazis are beautiful. They are pure good and generous. The tin displays the swastika, which is the Nazi symbol.Hitler posing with German children in 1936This is a positive propaganda towards the Germans. This poster shows Hitler posing with 3 children from the Nazi Youth. They look extremely joyful as they are with who they believe was the Saviour of Germany. This poster explains Adolf Hitler is being seen as a father figure for the children. This al so explains Hitler is trying to get their support for himself.A Jew Free Area SignThis is a Jew Free area sign. From this sign, it shows that this leads to discrimination towards the Jews. This shows that Jews are restricted from going to swimming baths and public places. This propaganda was used to make the Jews jealous as they were unable to go to some places that had a sign like this. This shows Germans being good-looking and healthy, whereas in other propagandas it shows Jews being horrible and fat.In conclusion when the World War 1 had ended, Hitler convinced all the Germans that the Jews were scapegoats. The Nazis then used negative propagandas to discriminate the Jews every possible way. Hitler convinced all the Nazis about saying negative things about the Jews, Hitler brainwashed the Nazis which they began to hate the Jews. The Germans necessary a saviour which Hitler came and took upon this role. Due to the fact that all the brainwashing Hitler started to do to the Germans so they were able to hate the Jews. The propagandas were so successful that it led to Hitler making the laws. By the propagandas being successful and the new laws made by Hitler this led the Jews dying in the holocaust. The holocaust is the name given to the slaughter of six million people, mostly Jews, during the Second War.

Speech of oath Ceremony
Especi tout ensembley to those dew drops who have made their heraldic bearing in the lawns of this college for the first time, I called the Dew drops yes they are because we believe that they are as pure as the faithfulness in the drops of dew we observe on the grass early in the morning. And now is the time to impel along with that purity in them the moral value so that they will shine in heights of the toss away this also is a circumstance that they also have entered this premises with an aim to groom their aliveness. Which implies that they have entered the college life where from they will come out to be the future of tomorrows society. The author of Re regard Mr. Tom Peters has assessed the colleges as, I imagine a college system that recognizes learning is natural, that a love of learning is normal, and that trustworthy learning is passionate learning. A college curriculum that values questions above answer.. creativity above fact regurgitation. individuality above conform ity.. and excellence above standardized performance And we must reject all notice of reform that serve up to a greater extent of the same more testing, more standards, more uniformity, more conformity, more bureaucracy. In context to these words of Tom Peter I assure all the parents and the students sitting in front that we all under this roof are determined to inculcate well(p) moral values among the children who enter the premises of this college because they are supposed to be the future of tomorrow, As we are all carriers of our receive stories. We have never trusted our own voices. Reforms came, but we dont make them. They were presented by commonwealth removed from colleges, by experts such changes bi passes college.College by college changes, however slow, could make a powerful difference. Which implies that good colleges are still possible. With these lines of Deborah Meier I conclude my words and whole heartedly welcome the new comers here in our family Sai Pariwar. Now t o start off with the official part of the welcome ceremony I request the lead of shri Sai Baba Aadarsh mahavidyalaya, along with the secretary SSBAM, the principal of the college and the Department heads from all the faculties to come ahead for the lightening of the lamp.

Practical book review Essay
Petersen breaks down the book in five severs . He starts strike with part one the value of of communication balancing listing awhile , talk until the other individual stops hearing , Listen until the person calms enough to hear again. He furthers this in a some other chapter. He thus moves on to the Flat-brain theory . He uses diagrams to explain the different levels of Stomach functions which is where the our emotions are laid . This area is were we experience our inner nudges . He also explains how the heart functions , the heart functions as a penetrate it gives and receives concerns , suggestions, and support. The next function is the head. The functions of the head is thinking, inventionning , remembering. The next couple of chapters begin to talk intimately he goes into a deeper understanding of the the flat brain theory until he reaches the flat- brain syndrome where he talks to the highest degree how our brains function better in a short football shape. However when our brains are squished it creates a full defect in our head fiction.he continues to talk about this concept . Part two starts off with the speaker unit listener process taking turns talking and listening. This can and will determine the role of verbaliser or listener. The talker-listener tease apart was introduced and we were provided a actual card to put to use in our personal time. The purpose of this card is to create an atmosphere and role of each persons involved. The card provides instructions on when to talk and when to listen this the luck of the talker to without being interrupted and the listener to be attentive to what the talker is talking about. Chapters 8 finished 15 go deeper in depth of the talker- listener card and its numerous functions from the talker prescriptive and the listener prescriptive. Part Three Petersen highlights the six communication traps, 1. Ritual listening, 2.Perry Masons( which made me chuckle ) 3. Why? 4. Not?5. I understand, he goes in depth to help the reader understand the difference between the five communications traps. He also talks about when nerve-racking new things and some of the thoughts that come long with that .When trying new learnings you always have negative reactions such as To overmuch repetition grates, new skills oftmultiplication sound fake, friends and family co-worker get rattled by change. He further part three by discussing basic listening technique . He uses technique such as para-feeling ( putting the talkers feelings into your words), decoding . He futhers the conversation of why we dont listen better in part five Where you can use TLC( talker-listener card) in group settings . The TLC card can help aide-de-camp through difficult discussion as well help moderate a two person conversation . In conclusion in part five he states how if you go beyond skill to increase empathy, genuineness and warmth youll tap into reservoir of healthy humanness thatll out wheels on your technique( Pg 2 10). doI remember growing up and my mother would ask me how are you? what are thinking about? I would have such a difficult time in expressing my feelings. I felt care when no one really cared about me , and my thoughts. In chapter eleven Petersen talks about the first talker goal sharing your feelings. I immediately become more in tune with what I was instruction. I recently had an encounter with a very close friend and she made the statement Kia you listen to everyone elses problems but you never seem to open as easy as we do to you. Thats unsporting to us as friends. I thought to myself I trust them as friends but sometimes its easier for me to move on my thoughts to my self .However from reading this chapter I understand that it hinders my communication not only with my friends but with others . It puts a stumbling block on me to be open and receptive. So I went back to that friend and we went to dinner and I used skittles as props we sat down and for every skittle in my g ive-up the ghost I had to share my feelings or thoughts on doubtfulnesss she had or asked. I can honestly say that vertical by having this little prop it open the door and I was able to release so much that I was holding back from her. I now see the difference of talking and listening she listened attentively and this allowed me to be honest and not feel judged byher or her actions. REFLECTHonestly the thought that popped in my head as I was reading this book was our relationship with Christ. I have said this forrader but it seems to be more imperative . We often talk to Christ and we tell Him all the troubles of our lives and how we essential this or we conduct that. However we often neglect the fact that Christ has to something to say to us. I started to reflect on the stories of Jonah , Moses. They did not want to tell apart the many clues that was present to them throughout their walk so it took outstanding things to happen to them before they got the message. Isnt like God to speak to us In the loudest moments of our lives. In those times of anger and frustration and we miss the mark because we are so loud internally. He took Jonah within of the fishes belly in order to get the message to him . It took a burning bush to get Moses maintenance and it took me reading this book to recognize that internally Im so loud that I need to learn how to calm myself down and others to experience me. Could it be that God has to extreme measures sometimes for me to stop and recognize Him? I often am on the go and pray on the go but I have recognize that in the moments when I feel like giving up or conflict or screaming He speaks quietly and calms my mind , soul, and spirit. He speaks often I guess the question is how much are we really listening ?Silence keeps you bound , talking gets you free, listening brings understanding travelSome of the techniques that I plan on using are the Talker- Listener card . I plan using this in my personal life ,when I have argumen ts and as well as in just simple conversations when trying to come to an agreement. I believe that this strategy will be implemental in my prayer time . The concept of talking and listening and really allowing God to minster to me as I minster to Him.Another technique I will use and will keep visuals of is the balancing scale of the emotions, heart, opinion or thoughts. Remembering the scale will help balance my conversations in the future especially when it comes to a misunderstanding. I really thank Petersen because I am a visual learner and the pictures put what he was saying in perceptive for me. Another technique that is really important to is remembering the pointing finger. In many conversations I often use my hands to communicate how Im feeling . After reading this section of the book I understand how my hands and fingers can seem more offensive then helping . I will remember this and will try to not use my hands as much in explaining my feelings. I plan incorporating the talker- listener card in my youth groups and after schooldays programs. Teaching our youth to the stages of communication now .View as multi-pages

Gender Bias - Essay gayakinTo start with, the generator of the text is definitely a man. This is easy to tell since the work has been written from the triad person perspective. This simply means that he is sharing experiences that are foreign to him. The author uses simple sentences and a limited description of objects, people and events. This is common among men who are unable to express their feeling accurately using words. His reference to the imagery of the American wife clearly shows the author is a man as all other men do in the American society (Hemingway 695). The description of how she went out to pure tone for the cat shows the caring and compassionate nature of women while her husband accompanies her although he is unwilling. This shows that the author is a man since he clearly captures her husbands reaction. The author explains how the muliebrity is attracted to the hotel keeper who is described as being serious, mature and cold. The author captures the manly featur es that attract the woman to the hotel keeper. He states that the woman is interested in ok things, romantic dining, long hair and a cat (Hemingway 695). He describes these things as being foreign to him and could have described them better if he were a woman. The author vividly points out her husbands interests and this could exclusively mean that he is a man as wholesome. This text clearly shows the plight of an African-American woman who works hard by cleaning laundry for the white people. From the beginning of the text, it can be seen that the author is a woman from the way that she describes Delia as being a hard worker and provides for her husband Sykes. On the other hand, her husband is depicted as being lazy and does not treat her well in like manner (Hurston 697). He once played a trick on her by placing the bullwhip in her laundry. He was well aware of the fact that Delia was scare of snakes. This shows that he is
